I’ll be honest, this stuff is good, but a little weird. I was using a prescription-strength fluoride toothpaste, but after moving I haven’t had the chance to find a new dentist and ran out, so I looked online for the next-best thing. I’ve been using this product for a couple weeks now.This ‘toothpaste’ is super runny (I put some in a different container that I can dip the bristles of my brush into), and it’s kind-of numbing? Im sure this is great for those with super sensitive teeth, but it was something I wasn’t expecting and I find it a little off-putting. The fruit and berry flavor is fine, but after a while it has started to taste like bad breath to me-though this is probably just a personal thing.So-4 stars, since it’s a good product, just very strange to me.

With a sensitive area of my mouth, I'd been on the lookout for a fluoride treatment for protection. My dentist had given me a couple of pastes, but I had found nothing similar. I decided to try this one and it works. Highly recommended.
Braces on -This is all 5 stars with me. Age 49. I used this several 3-5 times week 2 weeks before a cleaning after 2019 without seeing a dentist, I listerine rinse/gargle before brushing 2x a day and flossed at night after gold listerine and gargled before brushing That biofilm can be real(and I let my toothpaste (Arm & Hammer Toothpaste sit for a few ..morning/night) then I do Flouride treatment. Anyways dont Gargle with flouride anything. Night I waterpik, gargle rinse listerine gold,I proceed to ultra soft manual bursh with Arm& Hammer Peroxide/Baking Soda then The Listerine Flouride Rinse. No problemo.I wish I would have paid more attention to my teeth in my 20's and early 30's but I thought I was industructible.These flouride treatments a few times a week with a better plan to keep teeth healthy and strong is very important for your teeths health.It is always important to eat healthy foods to process any unneeded minerals and vitamins that your body may not be need at time of consumption.I let it sit for the directions time dont drink or anything for adleast 20 minutes afters.Im wearing braces and to prevent bone loss on teeth jaws. I have this added to my arsenal for added protection.Salads are not as fun and will be Juicing alot more to keep going on .Do you need flouride? Dont ever gargle it OK?
I've only used this a few times and I do think it is already making a difference. It's easy to use, and you get a lot for the money. It's like a product the dentists would use. Oh, and don't believe them when they say "berry flavor." That is NOT berry flavor. That is just fluoride flavor. Nasty nasty nasty! And it kind of burns? At least you only need to put it on for a minute.
I actually learned about flouride gel from my dentist. I went to her because I was experiencing sensitivity in one of my teeth. She rubbed this gel on it and by the time I got home, the pain was gone. She also did an x-ray to make sure there was nothing wrong with the tooth first. I bought this to have on hand in case I have a problem in the future with sensitive teeth and it works great.
After using once daily for 2 weeks my sensitivity was significantly reduced. Reduced, not cured. I still have to be careful about eating any fruit. Sometimes I exceed my fruit limit or eat an apple that's a bit too tart and have sharp pain shooting through my tooth nerves while brushing. A few days of Gel-Kam helps to recover some of that lost enamel.One problem: the gel is very thin and pours out of the tube like salad dressing. I imagine every person who uses this the first time squeezes the tube like a tube of toothpaste and loses 20% of the gel in their sink.
I used to go to a dentist once/3 months when I lived in Japan. The dentist used apple flavored fluoride paste at the end of each visit, which was much more viscous than this and they counted 5 minutes before I could spit it out & gargle. I asked them if that stuff was available, and they told me it wasn't as it was professional-use only.This is 1/2 to 1/3 the viscosity as compared to the professional-grade supply, but since this seems the only one available for purchase without prescription, I gave it a try. Mind you, this is NOT a tooth paste. I coat my teeth with good amount of this stuff and leave it for 5 minutes, instead of 30 seconds as mentioned under directions. I personally do not care about the flavor. If you have kids and they brush their teeth regularly with pastes containing fluoride, they should not need to use this.I clean my own teeth. Being a passenger plane maintenance tech with professional instruments that are basically the same tools as the ones used at a dentist (stainless steel picks & micro scraper; I have extra sets for teeth cleanning use only, as I do not wish to have oil, fuel or hydraulic fluid in my mouth, and having "stolen" the technique of the dental hygienist, I protect my teeth by myself (if you do not have the necessary instruments, knowledge and 100% confidence, NEVER try to do this). Dentists in Japan do not charge astronomical amounts like the ones in the U.S. I once had a major service and I paid no more than $300. That would have been a $2000-$3000 service in the U.S with insurance.
I bought this from seller Dentist Oral Care Products. You have to hit the “Compare all options” link by the other sellers section, to buy it from them. They had the best price, & they were nice & gave me a free toothbrush. So every few months when I need to order more Colgate Gel Kam, I’ll get a new brush at the same time. This stuff works great. I brush with normal toothpaste first, use mouthwash, then brush with this Gel Kam & my teeth feel nice & shiny afterwards. This is not a toothpaste, but a fluoride gel. Just put it on the toothbrush, & brush right away as the stuff is runny. But use this before bed, so it can sit on your teeth overnight. Don’t eat or drink afterwards.
I bought this as a means to supplement the enamel on my teeth. I've been using it off-and-on for probably a year and it appears to be doing it's job. I haven't had any major cavities and the Dentist even remarked that a couple soft spots seemed to have healed over. They were not against the use of this product. At most I use it 1-2 times a week and at worst once a month. Usually if I have forgotten to brush for a few days I will try to run a gelkam regiment to try and boost mineral replacement in my teeth enamel. I don't think it'll fix depleted teeth, but it seems to definitely help maintain the good fight.
The Gel-Kam helps my teeth a lot by preventing cavities. Sure, I still need to spend more time flossing and such but the product works well and I have not gotten a single cavity as long as I continue to use it at least once a day. If I stop using it for a while then I have a chance of getting another cavity. It is also nice because even using it once a day cuts down on the sensitivity of your teeth. I also like the 0.4 Flouride gel compared to what my dentist offers of 1% Flouride because I do not want to put that high a concentration of Flouride into my body even if you are just brushing it on your teeth and then spitting it out after 1 minute or more in your mouth without swalling it.

Grata,The purpose of ingesting fluoride is not only to strengthen the enamel on your teeth but to make sure that the enamel on your teeth developes properly before it erupts through the tissue. If you don't have fluoride in your system while your teeth are developeing it is very common for children to have teeth erupt with hypoplasia which is the underdevelopement of enamel. It is like being born with out flesh. Your body cannot function without skin right? If you did not have skin you would immediately get an infection because there is no flesh to protect you right? Your tooth needs enamel and if it does not have enamel on it the dentin (the yellow substance underneath the enamel) is exposed and the tooth will immediately begin to form a cavity, and no tooth brushing or topical flouride treatment can stop it. That is why ingesting fluoride through water or fluoride pills is important and NOT a scam. Most people don't notice Hypoplasia till it is too late and by then your tooth just looks like it has a big cavity on it!On to reviewing. This product works great!:o) Both my son and I use it!:o)
